Head coach Alan Stubbs has praised the team for showing the correct response to going behind to Arbroath in the Scottish Cup at the weekend.

Speaking to the Official Site following our eventual three one comfortable victory, Stubbs explained that the response for him was spot on and nobody let their heads drop, and equally nobody panicked, we stuck to what we know we did well and in the end we got our just rewards and booked our place in the quarter final draw.

‘I think the most important thing to emerge from the game was how we responded to going a goal down, especially after conceding so late last weekend. The players responded in the way that I wanted and expected them to do and in the end of was comfortable.’

Stubbs goes on to say that you have to give Arbroath credit though because they more than made a game of it and they came to Easter Road to have a go and make life difficult for us, and they did for periods – taking the lead in the process – and for him he feels it made for a good encounter that the fans would’ve enjoyed.

With the interview obviously taking place ahead of the draw for the next round, the gaffer also admitted that he didn’t ‘honestly’ care who we got in the draw, he was just delighted to see our quality shine through to put us into the hat to begin with – he would however love a home draw again.
