It was a game that Hibs should have won at the weekend, and after a scare against Arbroath it was a game that we did win to advance into the last eight of the Scottish Cup.

Arbroath came into this game saying that if we had an off day and they had a good one they could stun us, with half time approaching at Easter Road on Saturday it was looking like they might just do that but an equaliser just before the break proved crucial with us eventually running out three-one winners in the end….

We, having survived a first-minute effort from Murray when Oxley saved, had a hatful of chances, or half chances before Stewart (17) fired Arbroath into the lead. As half time approached Gray cut the ball back to Dja Djedje (42) who beat McCallum to make it one-one.

The lead was gained on the hour when Cummings’ effort took a deflection off Gordon (60) to see him credited with an own goal with the game secured just past the midway point of the second half when McGeouch (68) fired into the corner to seal our three-one win.

Following this game, as is customary of course, attention now turns to the MotM for us – who you think this was?

Select the name that you want from the list in the poll to your right, but why not also share your thoughts with us on your thinking for that person, and this latest game itself, with some views….
