Midfielder Scott Robertson has said that if Hibernian offer him a new deal, it wouldn’t take him long at all to give them an answer.

Speaking to the Edinburgh News ahead of the Queen of the South game, Robertson said that he’d love to sign a new deal at the club and extend his spell with us past this season given his is out of contract in the summer.

‘If the club wanted to keep me, I don’t think I’d be too long in giving them an answer. I’d absolutely love to stay. I’ve been here for two years and I feel like I’ve quite a big part of it in the sense that I’ve played most games when I’ve been fit.’

Robertson goes on to say that he loves the club, the facilities, his colleagues and the management and he’s convinced that we’ve got a good shout for promotion again these season and getting ourselves back into the Premier League.

‘I’m really comfortable here and I enjoy it. I feel like the club’s on the upturn – we’re playing some good football and it’s good to be a part of it. Being associated with what happened last season was a major negative, so I’d like to be associated with the club on the rise again.’

He ends his interview by saying that the club have begun some contract talks with a few of the younger lads, but he hasn’t been spoken to yet, so he’s hoping when the transfer window is out of the way a few of the old heads like him will be next in through the door for chats.
