Manager Alan Stubbs has said that if on loan Dylan McGeouch happened to become available over the summer on a permanent deal, then he’d obviously be very interested in trying to pursue that.

Since arriving at Easter Road on a loan spell from Celtic last August, he’s quickly established himself in the starting eleven and been impressive drawing praise from the gaffer on numerous occasions.

With it being unknown if Celtic are preparing a new deal for the 22 year old, Stubbs told the Edinburgh News that it was a situation he was keeping a close eye on.

‘It’s still early days with Dylan. He’s still contracted to Celtic, so we have to be very respectful of that. I’m interested in all good players and Dylan certainly comes into that category. He’s been great for us, so we’ll just have to see how that situation progresses.’

Having already made a move or two this January window, Stubbs also said that a more pressing matter was continuing to strengthen the team before the window shuts and he was still hopefully that one or two irons he had in the fire would come to something over the coming week and a bit, but if he can’t manager to do anything more with people returning to fitness and international duty coming to a close soon, he knows we can welcome a few players back and he’s pretty content with the group he has at his disposal now.

However, whilst he’s hoping to do a deal or two in incoming terms, he confirmed that he doesn’t expect anybody to be leaving ahead of deadline day, although it’s always possible that things will change in the coming days – especially youngsters to get them some more experience.
