Easter Road will tomorrow hold the draw for the first round of the Petrofac Cup after the oilfield services provider were announced as the successor to Ramsdens as sponsors of the Scottish Challenge Cup.

The draw when made is regionalised meaning Hibs could face local rivals Hearts when the ties take place on 26th July although another possible Edinburgh Derby against local Lowland League outfit Spartans is also possible as the amateur outfit enter the competition, like the Hibees, for the first time.

Alan Stubbs will make an appearance at the draw ahead of his first match in charge of the Easter Road outfit this Saturday when he takes his squad to the Borders to face Vale of Leithen.

Other potential ties for Hibs include Rangers, Airdrie, Queen of the South, Berwick Rangers, Livingston, Dumbarton, Ayr United, Clyde, Queens Park, Stranraer, Annan Athletic or Albion Rovers.

The current holders of the competition are Raith Rovers who delighted their support when they defeated overwhelming favourites Rangers 1-0 after extra time at Easter Road in April.
