It’s hard to believe that Jason Cummings is still only 19, although a quick look at his Instigram profile and you soon remember. Jason who has already scored 9 goals for Hibs this term and sits 2nd in the Championship scoring charts only 1 behind Gavin Reilly of Queen Of The South has been through some tough times in his fledgling career.
Only 2 years ago he was released by his boyhood heroes Hearts after suffering a knee injury, and for a boy who reportedly got down by Primark and had trials at Huddersfield, Celtic and Dunfermline to drop down to youth football to play with Hutchie Vale it just shows his enthusiasm and appetite for the game to have been given the chance at Hibs and is grabbing it with both hands. Jason can score all types of goals, he can zing them in, he has the touch of an angel and he isn’t shy in trying to take a man on.
With Malonga being away for a number of weeks playing in the African Nations Cup, Hibs will be looking at Jason to continue his scoring run which has included 3 goals in the last 3 games, a pressure I’m sure this young man will not just enjoy but positively thrive on. Good luck Jason
