The SPFL have announced the fixture lists for the upcoming season with Hibs starting with a home clash against Livingston on Saturday August 9th.
The Hibees would have been hoping for an easier start to life in the Championship after a summer thus far of turmoil with the Edinburgh Derby against Hearts scheduled for week two to take place at Tynecastle.
Most supporters were hoping for an opening tie against one of the league’s lesser lights – currently Hibs have still to appoint a manager and have very few senior pro’s on the books after the club released fifteen players in the aftermath of relegation from the Premiership.
The Christmas and New Year period sees the Easter Road outfit face back to back clashes against promotion rivals Rangers (27th December at home) and Hearts (Jan 3rd away) whilst they’ll end their campaign on May 2nd with a trip to play Falkirk.
Hibs two home Derby matches are pencilled in for Saturday October 25th and April 11th with their first clash against Rangers to take place at Ibrox on September 27th.
