Gallacher Joins Hibs

Hibs boss Neil Lennon has confirmed Scott Gallacher has joined the ranks at Easter Road following his release from St Mirren.

The 27 year old will primarily act as cover for Ofir Marciano and Ross Laidlaw with the former ruled out indefinitely following an accidental clash with team mate Liam Fontaine during Saturday’s 8-1 Scottish Cup victory over Bonnyrigg Rose.

Gallacher, who made 17 appearances for Saints this season before being dropped in favour of Manchester City loanee Billy O’Brien, has had spells at many clubs including both Hearts and Rangers.

With current first choice Marciano currently out of action alongside third choice Maciez Dubrawski, Gallacher is likely to feature on the bench for Saturday’s Championship encounter at Queen of the South with Laidlaw the preferred candidate to start.

Lennon told Hibs TV: ‘With Scott coming in, we have someone who knows his role, who is familiar with the surroundings and is experienced.’
