Stirling Albion have tonight confirmed striker Dylan Nguene Bikey has been released from his current amateur contract with the League Two outfit in order to ‘pursue his career at a higher level.’

Bikey, scorer of 9 goals in 9 games for The Bino’s since signing at the end of November is currently trialling at Easter Road following a similar training period at Hibs Championship rivals Dundee United.

As reported yesterday the Frenchman’s signature is currently held by Championnat de France outfit FC Dieppe and should any interested party wish to sign him on a permanent basis a compensation package will need to be agreed with the semi professional side.

The 21 year old forward has impressed for Albion with his goal a game record and as well as netting a brace during Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Clyde in the Scottish Cup last weekend his exploits in front of goal have helped to lift Dave Mackay’s side from the bottom of the table to 7th position.

Hibs are expected to make a foray into the transfer market prior to the window closing on Tuesday and capturing a young, raw striker from the lower leagues, a market which the club seems to have avoided in recent times, could prove useful in the Championship run in should the player have impressed during his stint at East Mains.

The full statement confirming his departure on Stirling’s official website read: ‘Dylan Nguene Bikey has, this afternoon, been released from his amateur contract with Stirling Albion to pursue his footballing career at a higher level.

‘He goes with our best wishes for the future and extreme gratitude for the memories he leaves behind.’
