A quick round up of the awards secured by Hibernian players for their performances this season.

With Scott Allan being our own big winner having been named Supporters’ Player of the Year, it’s not the only award bagged by a member of our playing staff in wider season celebrations.

19 year old striker Jason Cummings has been named the SPFL Young Player of the Month for April.

He adds that award to his own Supporters’ Young Player of the Year trophy from the club awards having found the net 19 times so far this season, and leading the Championship scoring charts.

It’s the second time he has picked up the monthly award.

Three players have also been named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year selection.

Scott Allan, Lewis Stevenson and David Gray all get the nomination for their performances and importance to us this season.

The Championship Play of the Year award will be announced this Sunday, and Allan was up for that honour as well.

Almost ever present Stevenson, also bagged our Sponsors Player of the Year award.

Full team.

Neil Alexander (Hearts), David Gray (Hibs), Alim Ozturk (Hearts), Danny Wilson (Hearts), Lewis Stevenson (Hibs), Scott Allan (Hibs), Morgaro Gomis (Hearts), Jamie Walker (Hearts), Gavin Reilly (Queen of the South), Rory Loy, (Falkirk), Osman Sow (Hearts).

The selection is taken based on the votes of fellow professionals in the league.

Going back to Allan, the 23 year old was voted the Championship Player of the Year and quickly dedicated the award to his team mates and the coaching staff.

Having also been named the Disabled Supporters’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year, he said of this most recent honour.

“Winning the award is definitely one of the highlights of my career so far. Getting recognition from fellow professionals is great, but I couldn`t have earned the votes if it wasn`t for the help of my team-mates on the pitch and also the support of the coaching staff off it. I`ve really enjoyed my football this season and hopefully that has shown in my performances. I love playing for Hibs and the way everything has worked out so far has been absolutely brilliant. Picking up personal awards is a real honour, but our main goal as a team is to now achieve promotion.”

Allan went on to say that having won at Falkirk and secured second spot, it was a great feeling and a great first step now in our battle to promotion now.

“Achieving the win at Falkirk and securing second spot was just the first step – now we`re all focused on hitting the ground running in the play-offs and progressing through. I`m really excited about the play-offs and I will be counting the days until the first leg of the semi-final – making sure I`m ready to help the team get the results required to progress.”
