It’s being reported that three players are struggling with injury ahead of our coming play off battle.

Apparently head coach Alan Stubbs is waiting on news about Farid El Alagui, Jordon Forster and Martin Boyle with it being speculated that Boyle himself is nigh on definitely out of contention for the first play off game.

Forster and Boyle picked up their problems in the game against Falkirk with Forster stretchered off after landing heavily only a minute into the second period. Boyle came off with 19 minutes remaining after a challenge.

El Alagui has only just returned to fitness having spent seven months out with a ruptured Achilles tendon and is struggling with a knee injury.

Stubbs’ concern with Boyle is he may have damaged his knee ligaments but Hibernian are awaiting a full diagnosis.

In quotes carried by the Edinburgh News the gaffer explained about Forster firstly.

‘We are going through the necessary checks. We want to rule things out and once the swelling goes down we`ll have a better idea. We`ll find out after he`s had a scan, but it looks as if he may have strained his ligaments.’

As for Boyle.

‘Martin is a little bit more serious than we thought. He may have tweaked the ligaments in his knee, but we`ll have to wait and see. I don`t think they`ll have too much training time in before the next game.’

As for El Alagui, Stubbs admitted that it wasn’t anything new that was troubling him but it was something we needed to manage.

‘Farid has an ongoing injury that we have to manage. It`s nothing new or fresh, unfortunately it just rumbled a little bit and we took the chance to give him a rest. He has had a little bit of swelling which we had to let settle down. He`s been to see the specialist, he`s doing okay and hopefully he will be involved in the play-offs.’
