Under pressure Hibs boss John Hughes has outlined his determination to bring success to the Easter Road club and has his sights set on glory in this season’s CIS Insurance Cup.

The Hibees begin their campaign this evening when they take on a Kilmarnock side managed by Hughes’ predecessor Mixu Paatelainen.

Paatelainen has the Ayrshire club playing neat and attractive football and with Hibees desperately out of form a much harder clash at this stage could barely be envisaged.

Hughes though is certainly looking to steer the club to glory and said “I don`t know how other clubs or managers see the cup, I want to go and win it, it would be fantastic.

“I`m desperate to bring silverware to this club and I`m desperate to be a success.

“I`ve still got a vision, I`ve still got a plan. I`m just asking the supporters to get behind the team and support them.

Hibs last won silverware in 2007 thanks to victory in tonight’s competition, ironically with a 5-1 victory over the same opponents.
