Would Miller Consider Hibs Return?

Kenny Miller has terminated his contract at Vancouver Whitecaps and is seeking a move closer to home and despite the west coast media suggesting he’d agreed to sign a two year deal at Rangers the player himself has dismissed the claim.

When the striker left Hibs back in the summer of 2000 he indicated he’d love to finish his career at the club which gave him his start in the game and now at 34 years old it would show an ambition seemingly long removed, if new Hibs CEO Leeann Dempster was to pull out all the stops to bring the former Scotland star ‘home’.

Capturing the player in the twilight of his playing days would show the Easter Road side mean business in the Scottish Premiership next season, providing of course their safety is secured over the next two fixtures.

Miller has been continually linked with a return to Edinburgh since departing Rangers for Bursaspor in Turkey back in 2011 with every transfer window seeing a Kenny to return rumour out on the streets.

There is also a story doing the rounds that the player himself offered to play for the club on loan from Whitecaps under Pat Fenlon’s reign but the Irishman refused to take the matter further, primarily one would have to think, because Leigh Griffiths was in sensational form and carrying that particular side.

If these stories are to be believed then it would be something of a travesty if Hibs were not to at least put the question to Miller’s agent about a possible homecoming for the forward capped 69 times by his country.
