Hibs have confirmed Owain Tudor Jones was released from his contract prior to the close of the transfer window, which enables the player to find a new club as a free agent.
The Welsh international arrived at the club in the summer of 2013 when then Hibees boss Pat Fenlon secured his signature following a spell at Inverness Caledonian Thistle but the seven times capped midfielder failed to impress under the Irishman or subsequent managers Terry Butcher or Alan Stubbs.
All in all the 29 year old made 19 appearances for the club with ten of those coming from the bench.
Jones, never a fans favourite, will be searching for a new club in the English lower leagues following his departure from Easter Road with Cambridge United believed to be interested in offering him a short term deal.
