Head coach Alan Stubbs has confirmed that newly recruited Franck Dja Djedje won’t be risked in the upcoming game against Queen of the South after he picked up a hamstring injury.

The 26 year old Ivorian joined us a few weeks back and made his debut as a second half substitute in the three all draw with Falkirk, but having picked up the hamstring problem he sat out last weekends five nil victory over Cowdenbeath.

Speaking to the Edinburgh News Stubbs confirmed that he had been for scans and we knew exactly what the issue was an the severity, but he felt it made more sense to give him the QoS game off as well to rest, to ensure that what is a short term problem doesn’t become something greater.

‘Franck will probably miss out this week but hopefully we’ll have him available for the following game. We’ve had him scanned and found out exactly what it is and it’s nothing too serious. He’s just strained his hamstring. We want to make sure it’s 100% right before he comes into the team because we want to make sure he’s available for the rest of the season.’

David Gray and Farid El Alagui remain sidelined with their injuries, and Dominique Malonga is obviously on international duty, but other than that ahead of our trip to Palmerston Park Stubbs has no fresh injury concerns to deal with.

Jordan Forster has also stepped up his return following three months out, as he played the first half of our recent development squad fixture against Hearts.
