Hibs fans up and down the Country will be delighted to hear that the club are hopeful of re-signing striker Derek Riordan on a new contract despite interest in him from German club Kaiserslautern.
Hibs believe they could now persuade Riordan to remain at Easter Road.
The 22-year-old turned down the offer of a new contract but recently rejected a transfer to Cardiff City.
Sheffield Wednesday also expressed an interest and Bundesliga strugglers Kaiserslautern are the latest admirers.
Fellow relegation candidates Nuremburg have also been tracking the progress of the forward, who is out of contract in October.
