Former Hibs keeper Yves Makalamby has joined Welsh side Swansea on a deal until the end of the season.

‘Maka’ was released by manager John Hughes in the summer after failing to convince the club of his long term potential following some high profile errors.

The 24 year old Congo international will once again be under the tutelage of Brendan Rogers who coached him previously at Premiership giants Chelsea.

Makalamby split opinion during his time at Easter Road with many fans believing he had the ability to play at a high level although a sizeable majority were pleased to see him dropped in favour of Graham Stack following his arrival from Plymouth.

The proverbial gentle giant, Maka will be hoping to get his career back on track and will contest the no.1 spot at The Liberty Stadium with former Dunfermline keeper Dorus De Vries.
