Ivan Sproule has admitted his amazing exhibition of shouting after scoring against Dundee United was his way off letting off pent up steam from time spent on the bench.

After he crashed in the third and final goal in the 3-0 win at Tannadice on Sunday, Sproule was screaming and pointing, and has now told what it was all about.

“It is frustrating when you are sitting on the bench watching. A lot of frustration has built up when I came off the bench at Tannadice. I was pleased to get a goal and it wasa wee bit of a weight off my shoulder. Hopefully I can keep up that kind of form because I feel I am playing well at the minute. I am looking sharp, so hopefully I’ll get more chances in the games that are coming up.” as reported in the various daily newspapers

The Northen Irish international continued: “Everyone wants to start but it can only be eleven. There is a lot of competition this season with Scott Brown, Zemmamma and also Benji there as well. All I can do is keep putting in good performances.”

Ivan is obviously still hurting from our 2-1 defeat at Parkhead and said: “I came in for a wee bit of criticism from some people after the Celtic game. I missed one or two chances but I think it was maybe unfair to point the finger at me. It was nice to get that goal against United, though, and the points. Hopefully my season can start from there.”

I for one am more than happy to see Ivan, and any other Hibs player act in this way. It shows they have a passion to play, a passion to succeed, and more importantly, have scored. Lets see you do it again against Rangers this weekend!!
