Hibs start another search for a manager following official confirmation John Hughes has left the club by mutual consent.

‘Yogi’ has departed following a poor end to last season’s SPL campaign and a less than inspiring start to this season.

Saturday’s loss to St Johnstone saw large sections of the support turn on Hughes which sees him walk away after only 15 months in charge at his boyhood heroes.

A former captain of the club, Hughes oversaw a return to European football at Easter Road but a run of only 4 victories in 28 SPL matches since February has ultimately seen him lose his job.

Immediate speculation on his replacement has seen Derek McInnes and Jim McIntyre linked although the board may take time to make a more considered choice with the international break ahead.
