Guest Article: A 65 Year Old Hibs Fan’s Experience

|

This is a guest feature by Raymond Graham.

As all Hibs fans know and don’t need to be told, we are a selling club be it John McGinn or Colin Stein.

Even the great Jock Stein knew he was going to Celtic so he took Ronnie Simpson with him.

Look what Neil had to do at the end of
last season: all his midfield gone but still expected to perform miracles.

Replacements are usually lower league standard players, I can understand Neil’s frustration he has to blow a vein sometime.

What’s the club’s ambition?

I had the privilege of following Turnbull’s Tornado’s the football was out of this world, but not enough to win the Scottish Cup.

I went to Hampden hopes high to watch CELTIC destroy us 6-1 so if you don’t have the right manager in place, the right strikers in place, the right midfield, the right defence and the right goalkeeper; we have had them in the past but had to break them up to get money.

Oh to have a Pat Stanton, a Peter Marinello or Jonny Graham the list goes on.

So I think Neil Lennon has had his stint, what we’re presented with next? The ambition must start with the standard of manager.

Strong words from Raymond who questions recruitment and ambition.
