David Gray and Lewis Stevenson have both given their reactions to our two nil victory over Rangers.

With the win putting us into second place in the Championship, leapfrogging Rangers in the process, Gray told the Scotsman firstly that he couldn’t have been more happier with it being our third league win over them in one season for the first time in our history and he knew it was very well timed for us.

‘We can take that onto the next part of the season and see how far we can go. But we know we have let a few games go where we should have picked up the three points. At Ibrox on Friday we showed a different part of our game, we showed that we could dig a win out. The three points is massive. We were far from our best, but credit to the lads. We put our bodies on the line when we needed to and came away with the three points when we really needed to do so.’

Stevenson again was praising the effort of the players, but equally held his hands up and admitted we certainly had lady luck on our side in the game.

In his interview with the Edinburgh News he explained.

‘I thought that was the best Rangers have played against us this season. We were maybe a bit lucky to get the win, but there’s been games where we’ve played really well and not won so hopefully that will start to balance itself out over the rest of the season.’

With Stevenson getting the second goal that killed the game off as an encounter really, he added that for him he knows it came at the perfect time for us and he just took the chance as early as he could because he knew there was somebody close to him coming to try and make the tackle, so when it went in he was obviously delighted.
