Crewe’s Steve Jones linked with Hibs

Hibernian manager Tony Mowbray has admitted being interested in signing Crewe forward Steve Jones.

The Northern Ireland International has impressed Mowbray and the Hibs boss has admitted he would like to sign him but has said the move is far from cut and dried.

Former Hibs defender Colin Murdock, now a team mate of Jones at Crewe has said he would be a big hit up here and would cause big problems for SPL defenders.

Murdock said ‘I was aware that Hibs had made enquiries and I can even recall from my time at Hibs that they were interested in him, although I don’t know how far things have gone. I’m sure he would do well for Hibs’.
