Hibs boss Terry Butcher is convinced a ‘wall of noise’ can see his side over the finishing line when they face Hamilton in the second leg of the Premiership play-off this Sunday.

The Hibees were backed by just under 3000 fans during Wednesday’s 2-0 victory at New Douglas Park and is looking for a similar atmosphere at Easter Road.

Butcher has acknowledged the tie is far from over and expects Accies to attempt to make a flying start to the match but hopes Wednesday’s victory has lifted confidence in his own dressing room.

The Hibs gaffer told The Scottish Sun ‘We all know there’s still a long way to go and we require another strong and gritty display to get over the line together.

‘It was absolutely brilliant to see all the Hibs fans celebrate the goals and the victory.

‘Once more the Hibernian spirit came to the fore and I am sure there will be another wall of noise on Sunday afternoon.

‘When you are backed into a corner, the only way forward is to come out fighting, and to try and beat what’s in front of you.

‘Hamilton’s confidence was sky high after beating Falkirk, so to score two and keep a clean sheet made quite a difference to the coach journey back to Edinburgh.’
