Hibs will reacquaint themselves with referee Nick Walsh after the SFA confirmed he’ll be the man in the middle for Saturday’s Scottish Championship encounter against Dumbarton.

Walsh who sent off Hibs midfielder Marvin Bartley earlier this season, a decision which was rightly rescinded upon appeal, will be assisted by Alastair Mather and Chris McNab.

Hibees boss Neil Lennon was left fuming at Walsh following Bartley’s dismissal in a 2-1 home defeat to struggling Ayr United, a match which saw the Easter Road men lose their 100% League record.

Curiously, Bartley’s dismissal saw a run of three red cards in five matches against Hibs, a side more sinned against than sinner, and it was the ball winning midfielder who received another red card following Lewis Stevenson’s ordering off at Queen of the South when Hibs faced Raith Rovers in October however, as per his earlier successful appeal, this red was also overturned.

So far this season Walsh has taken charge of 20 matches from Premiership level to League One and has produced 75 yellow cards and 4 reds at an average of 3.75 yellow’s per game and producing a red on a ratio of 1 in 5 matches.

His last outing saw him take charge of the Renfrewshire Derby between St Mirren & Morton on Hogmanay where the official handed out 4 yellows and a red to the Greenock outfit’s Jamie McDonagh.

The other appointments in the Championship are as follows:

Dundee Utd v Queen of the South Alan Muir
Dunfermline Athletic v St Mirren Willie Collum
Falkirk v Ayr United Bobby Madden
Morton v Raith Rovers Gavin Duncan
