The latest Vital Hibs poll shows overwhelming support for new manager Alan Stubbs with nearly 60% of all respondents believing he can lead the club back to the Premiership at the first time of asking.

We asked the question: Can Stubbs lead Hibs to promotion? The answers were as follows:

Yes, via the playoff’s 41%

Yes, as title winners 18%

No 37%

Undecided 4%

Despite being a managerial novice it shows the faith the support have in the new man who, despite financial cut backs at Easter Road, has assembled a strong first starting X1 however concerns remain over squad depth should injuries and suspensions bite.

The optimism within the fan base is a far cry from May when the supporters anger spilled over to protests about the board and then manager Terry Butcher, who managed to take over a poor Premiership side in mid-table and make them worse, which culminated in Hibs relegation from the top flight.
