Hibs under 17’s added yet another East of Scotland Shield to their coffers following Sunday’s 2-0 win over Hearts.

The win sees them retain the trophy, remarkably for the tenth season in succession after goals in each half eased them to victory.

Despite the match taking place at Easter Road it was the visitors who found their feet first and probably edged the first period despite trailing at half time due to McGregor’s 44th minute header.

The second period saw Hibs more comfortable having taken the lead and the trophy was secured ten minutes from time when, from another corner, Docherty’s delivery was met by the head of Shaw who bulleted home.

The second goal was a killer for the young Jambo’s and they rarely threatened thereafter allowing the jubilant Hibees to enjoy their success on the final whistle.

Hibernian under-17s :

Sean Brennan, Matthew McInally, David Porcher, Ben Stirling, Jordan McGregor, Gregor Watson, Alistair Smith, Scott Martin, Conner Duthie, Dominic Docherty, Oliver Shaw (Kevin Waugh, 83). Unused substitutes: Ross Campbell, Stan Chitemere, David McKay, Adam Watson.
