Stubbs Wants Holden As Assistant

New Hibs gaffer Alan Stubbs has identified the man he wishes to assist him at Easter Road with Stubbs looking to former Wales international Andy Holden as he looks to rebuild the Hibees fortunes.

Holden worked alongside the new Hibs Head Coach at Everton where he served the club for 19 years prior to leaving the club last year.

Stubbs had originally offered the position to David Unsworth who assisted him in his role as the Toffees under 21’s manager however the former England cap rejected the chance to follow him north.

51 year old Holden served under a succession of managers at Goodison Park after initially being appointed by Joe Royle in 1994.

Hibs will hold a formal press conference today to introduce Stubbs as Head Coach although the former Celtic player has already taken charge of his first training sessions at the club’s East Mains Training Centre.
