With Hibernian drawn against Stranraer in the second round of the Scottish League Cup this season, head coach Alan Stubbs has said he’s pleased to see us get home advantage.

With a comfortable round one victory over Montrose the other day, the draw pitted us against Stranraer with the game taking place at Easter Road on either August 25 or 26.

Speaking to the Official Site Stubbs described it as a ‘very good draw’ for us for a number of reasons.

‘It’s a good draw – we’re happy that we’ve been given another home tie and an opportunity to play in front of our own supporters. We fully expect a difficult game, Stranraer had a good season last year, but the fact we’re at home is a big bonus. We’ll do our homework on them and prepare thoroughly for the match.’

Ticket details as well as the full date and time for kick off remain to be set but shouldn’t take too long to be agreed between the authorities and both clubs but Hibernian undoubtedly go into the game as favourites but it’s one thing saying that and another thing performing on the day to prove it, so the side will have to keep their focus and ensure we aren’t the shock of the round.

Ross County v Ayr United
Forfar Athletic v Hearts
Kilmarnock v Berwick Rangers
Raith Rovers v Hamilton Academical
Queen of the South v Morton
Dunfermline Athletic v Dundee
Partick Thistle v Falkirk
