Alan Stubbs, Hibs apparent manager-in-waiting, should be confirmed in the role within the next 24 hours.
Final contract details are believed to have been ironed out over the weekend which will see the lifelong Blue leave Goodison Park as he embarks on his first senior management adventure.
Stubbs is expected to be joined at Easter Road by his trusted lieutenant David Unsworth who has been at his side since September 2013.
Both men are already working on strengthening a Hibs squad which has been decimated by the release or sale of some 15 squad members after the club was relegated from the Premiership.
The first team players who remain at Hibs made their return to training today following their end of season break with a few still anxious to find out if they have a future at the club following former manager Terry Butcher advising them they were free to find pastures new.
Regulars Liam Craig and Ryan McGivern were two of the squad who were told they could leave if they received suitable offers from other clubs however, despite interest in captain Craig from former side St Johnstone, both he and Northern Ireland international McGivern remain.
