SPL Fixtures release date

As the new season slowly approaches the fixture list for the 2008/9 SPL season will be announced this coming Monday, June 16th.

The scheduled start date is Saturday August 9th and Hibs will be hoping to avoid a repeat of the first game of last season, a Derby against Capital rivals Hearts.

Vital Hibs will bring you the important fixtures as soon as they are confirmed by the SPL although they may be subject to change for live television coverage.

Hibs will be aiming to hit the ground running and have a stern test ahead of them pre-season with InterToto Cup commitments and friendlies against Barcelona, Wigan and Middlesborough amongst others.

With only one confirmed signing so far, the capture of full back David Van Zanten from St Mirren, boss Mixu Paatelainen is likely to dabble in the transfer market before the new season kicks off.
