Hibs Scottish Cup Fourth round clash against local rivals Hearts appears to be heading for a sell out with little more than 3000 tickets left available for home supporters to purchase for the match on 2nd December according to the Ticketmaster website.

The re-run of last season’s final is much anticipated by both sets of fans with Hibees enjoying a fine opening to the SPL season despite a 3-1 defeat to Dundee last weekend.

With ticket sales likely to be brisk over the next week or so the majority within Easter Road will be hoping it’s Redemption Day for the home side as they seek revenge for the catastrophic Final defeat.

News of the potential sell out will be in stark contrast to the opening Derby of the season at the same venue when many Hibs supporters stayed away from the match with the result from May still fresh in the mind.

There was also the small matter of the Hearts supporters promise of a party their neighbours would never forget, albeit the party which was promised was largely a damp squib.

Chairman Rod Petrie this week urged the Hibees faithful to back the team following improved performances on the park this season and while many have certainly answered his call for the one off cup occasion, Petrie will be hopeful a positive result will see a further boost in both walk up and half season ticket sales.

Tickets for the match can be purchased via the club website, by telephone on 0844 844 1875 (option 1) or visiting the club store in person. All persons purchasing tickets do however have to be registered on the club database.

Prices for the tickets themselves are £25 for adults and £14 concessions.

The match takes place on Sunday 2nd December (3:30pm kick off) and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
