Hibs gangly striker Colin Nish is the subject of newspaper speculation today with English Championship side Barnsley reportedly on his trail.

The self confessed Hibs supporter is the 2nd current Hibee to be linked with a move to South Yorkshire after weekend speculation linked Derek Riordan with a move to Oakwell.

Nish finished the season with 5 goals in two games following some outspoken criticism of the club’s supporters and played a vital role in securing fourth spot and a guaranteed Europa League spot.

The player is also said to be interesting Mark McGhee at Aberdeen although with the player currently under contract at Easter Road it’s very doubtful if the cash strapped Dons could afford the asking price.

If Nish were to go he’d link up with Motherwell’s player of the year, Jim O’Brien, who agreed a deal with the Tykes earlier this month.
