Hibs centre-back Rob Jones has told fans that they have yet to see the best of him, ahead of tomorrow’s (Sat, Dec 2) match with Dundee United at Easter Road.

After John Collins’ side took a two-goal lead before eventually drawing 2-2 with leaders Celtic on Sunday, fans are full of confidence – and Jones has said life is good at the club.

Collins took the hotseat after Tony Mowbray took the reins at West Bromwich Albion and Jones has said he is enjoying the freshness the new boss has brought to the club.

Collins said: ‘At the moment, I would say it is going steady personally and I still have a lot to improve on. I make the odd mistake in games which I have to iron out, but I am enjoying it here – it would be tough not to.

‘Training has been different now John is here. There have been lots of high-tempo games and I have enjoyed it a lot. John and his assistant, Tommy Craig, have brought a freshness to the club and each and every individual has reacted to that.’

Since moving from Grimsby Town in the summer, Jones has quickly become a first-team regular and a favourite among supporters. The team have been putting in some good performances of late, and talk of European qualification is by no means fantasy.

Hibs will hope to beat the struggling Arabs in order to gain ground on Rangers and Aberdeen, who are five points ahead in the table.
