Freed Hibs midfielder has made a quick-fire return to the SPL after agreeing an 18 month deal at John Hughes’ Falkirk.

The Bairns swooped for the midfielder following his release from the Easter Road side and offered the deal after a short trial period.

Lynch made his debut for Hibs under previous manager John Collins but never featured under Mixu Paatelainen and had a short loan spell at St Johnstone last season.

He was eventually released last month and goes straight into the Falkirk squad for the weekend clash against St Mirren.

Another freed midfielder, Brian Kerr, looks set to return to the UK after failing to agree terms with Canadian MLS side Toronto.

Kerr’s agent couldn’t reach an agreement with the Maple’s Head Coach John Carver and his Stateside dream is now dead following the transfer window closure.

The 26 year old has options in England with Swindon boss Maurice Malpas, Kerr’s boss at Motherwell, thought to be one of those keen.
