Look Who’s Coming Back

Boy wonder has returned to training, and I for one am that happy I’m lining up to jump through a round plastic thing. You know, the ones we used to wiggle around our hips before the days of social media and hand-held techy stuff.

Having said that, I wonder if the two who play in the same position are jumping through the same hoops as I?

Who am I muttering on about?

Ofir Marciano of course.

Our 6ft 4in shot-stopper has been absent since the millennium…it feels like it even though I’ve exaggerated by about 17 years and six months.

The latest news coming out of the club is that the 28-year-old Israeli international is on the training ground and if reports are correct he’s working his nuts off to reclaim his number one shirt. Oh, wait for a mo, it’s been that long since I’ve seen it, but I seem to remember the said number is already imprinted on his rear.

Adam Bogdan has been deputising in Ofir’s absence while Ross Laidlaw has been deputising for Adam. Anyone confused yet?

I suppose Adam will revert to the bench and Ross will disappear from obscurity. Or is that the other way around?

When will Marciano return?

How long is a piece of string?

“It feels great to be back in training. I have been looking forward to that for so long, ever since I’d had my operation,” Ofir told the official Hibernian website.

“It has been a frustrating time for me as it has taken a long time, longer than I expected, but it has been a complicated injury.

“I am happy that I am back now and in training and I really appreciate it.”

Living a mere six miles (ish) from the training ground, I wonder if he’ll avoid any further mishaps?
