Which isn’t really too much of a surprise is it?

Hibernian would expect interest in Jason Cummings given the quality he has, however at least this time there’s no worry – or chance – Rangers will unsettle him at all! But, if weekend reports are correct, with them originating in the Sunday Mail by all accounts, Hibs might have to be braced for interest in the 20-year-old in the New Year!

Interest in being shown bu Championship clubs Brighton, Cardiff, Fulham and Rotherham with them all report as ‘considering a bid’ with Premier League side Bournemouth also interested, in fact it’s been claimed they’ve ‘watched’ him recently.

Cumming is on a hot streak this season, actually he’s scored 22-goals in his last 31 appearances for Hibs full stop and, on international duty at U21 level, he found the net again for Scotland against the Ukraine on Friday.

This interest from clubs south of the border saw the Daily Record in another report say these clubs all sent scouts to that Scotland U21 game?

With him having 18-months left on his contract there’s no immediate concern for Hibs but if he committed his future – for what they’re worth these days – to a new contact this would leave the Hibees in a stronger position to keep him at Easter Road even if this interest is stepped up in January.

There’s no indication, as yet, Cummings is looking to leave the club but if he expressed this desire then we all know what way this (as it almost always does) goes….
