Hibs face Stranraer tonight in a Scottish Leauge Cup tie and aim to bounce back from Sunday’s unfortunate loss to Rangers with a convincing victory.
Darren McGregor is all set to make his debut following his arrival from Rangers whilst summer signing James Keatings could also feature having yet to make an appearance for the Hibees.
Boss Alan Stubbs is likely to show Stranraer the utmost respect and field a full strength side although captain David Gray will sit this one out after his injury at Ibrox.
The Hibs Head Coach could use the match to give some match practice to Dylan McGeouch and Marvin Bartley with both men substitutes against the ‘Gers.
League One outfit Stranraer will be out to cause a shock and will have gained confidence from last night’s results which saw several upsets and other so called bigger sides struggle against part time opponents.
On paper it’s a game Hibs should be winning comfortably but the players must remain focused and not become complacent throughout the 90 minutes.
Whilst the main ambition this season is promotion a nice cup run will benefit both confidence and the club’s coffers so victory is essential.
