Scotland boss Walter Smith has announced that Hibs midfielder Kevin Thomson will not play in tomorrow’s (Tues, Nov 14) B-international against Ireland at Dalymount Park.

The 22-year-old has flu and will miss the match along with Celtic’s Shaun Maloney, who picked-up a calf injury against St Mirren yesterday. Neither player will be replaced.

Walter Smith said: ‘We have decided not to call in anyone else at this late stage. We are just going with the 16 players.’

Thomson’s team-mates Scott Brown, Michael Stewart and Steven Whittaker are all in the squad.
