Alan Stubbs leads his Hibernian side out at Ibrox in his first competitive clash since taking over the reigns at Easter Road a little over a month ago and will be hoping his players can produce a performance to encourage the Hibees faithful.

Hibs have only conceded once in pre season during which most observers have been impressed with the patient build up of the new look side although question marks remain over the firepower potential within the ranks.

New boys Farid El-Alagui, David Gray, Mark Oxley and former Ibrox target Scott Allen are all likely to make their debuts as Stubbs looks to build a side capable of returning to the Premiership at the first time of asking following relegation to the second tier of Scottish football in the wake of Terry Butcher’s easily forgotten time in charge.

Whilst Hibs are deemed to be massive underdogs for the clash there is little to fear from an ageing Rangers squad which was emphasised at the weekend when English Championship outfit Derby County easily disposed of the Light Blues in a friendly encounter.

The Easter Road side have a squad at full health with striker Paul Heffernan edging ever closer to full fitness although he may have to settle for a place on the bench this time round.

Rangers are without the suspended Bilel Mohsni after his red card against Derby was reported to the Scottish FA.
