David Gray has said the operation he underwent to solve his groin injury last Monday went successfully and he is now on the road to recovery.

The 26 year old right back was a virtual ever present since arriving at the club over the summer, and he has already contributed three goals and worn the skipper’s armband at points.

His progress has been halted thought by a troublesome groin injury that wouldn’t clear up, and having now undergone surgery, he will begin rehabilitation work today at the Training Centre.

Speaking to the Official Site the player explained.

‘I spoke to the surgeon after the operation and he was satisfied with how it all went and, apart from a bit of soreness and achiness, it feels good. I’m back Thursday where the hard work will start – beginning with some stretching and light rehab work.’

Gray says that he’s hoping his recovery can be pain free as in many ways after an operation like this it is the pain that dictates what you can and can’t do, so if it goes well he would hope to get himself back sooner rather than later.
