Midfielder Fraser Fyvie has been handed a two game ban following the incident in the Rangers match on Monday.

Everybody knows the incident well and the feigning involved that saw Andy Halliday sent off, and fans will be well aware of manager Alan Stubbs’ words that Fyvie wouldn’t react like that again in the future and his apparent backing for Rangers’ appeal to the red.

Today the Scottish FA compliance officer said that the players’ actions had caused the referee Bobby Madden to make a mistake when showing red, and the 22 year old opted to not contest the claim of ‘committed an act of simulation in that you feigned that you had received a blow to the face or head.’

Fyvie will now miss the games against Raith Rovers and the Scottish Cup fourth round tie in Fife.
