Four Hibernian players have been named in Scotland’s 18-man squad to face Ireland in next Tuesday’s (Nov 14) B-international at Dalymount Park.

Midfielders Scott Brown, Michael Stewart and Kevin Thomson will be joined by defender Steven Whittaker for the trip across the Irish Sea as Walter Smith plans for the next round of Euro 2008 qualifying matches.

The team will be captained by Wigan defender Andy Webster, who left Hearts in the summer.

Scotland boss Smith said: ‘The B international is a useful exercise for players who fall between the recent Under 21 squads and the full national squad. It gives me an opportunity to bring in the younger players and see what they can do.’

Falkirk’s wonderkid Anthony Stokes, who continued scoring goals for fun in the Bairns’ CIS Insurance Cup penalty shoot-out win against Celtic last night (Tues, Nov 7), has been included in Ireland’s B-squad.
