Hibs fans laid siege to the West Stand following a 1-0 defeat to Kilmarnock which sees the Hibees face a relegation play off against Falkirk or Hamilton.

Kris Boyd’s strike sealed an undeserved victory for the Ayrshire side but the Hibs fans were angered following yet another sub standard display.

Chants against both management and board were rife after the match although it’s clear the mainstream support have taken enough of Terry Butcher, despite the former England captain only replacing Pat Fenlon in the hot seat in November last year.

Under his reign the Hibees have been on a woeful run of form and now, with only one victory in his past 19 games, the man appointed in November is seen as public enemy no.1 after a shocking run of results.

Hibs fans after the game were horrified after the game with one stating ‘What has he (Butcher) done to deserve this job?

‘He had one good season at Caley but bar that his record is awful.

‘The players aren’t playing for him or (Maurice) Malpas so do the decent thing and go.

‘No Hibs side should ever go more than 2,3 or 4 games without winning. Butcher’s not won since February. Sauzee was sacked for less.

Whilst the protests were not lengthy in timescale they will only build momentum should Hibs lose the first leg of the play off, scheduled for Wednesday 21st May.
