Hibs have taken former Cardiff City player Luke Coulson on trial and the 20 year old is expected to play a part in this weekend’s friendly match against Berwick Rangers.

Primarily a right back, Coulson can also be utilised as a right midfielder and is known for his pace and crossing ability.

Having spent ten years at Manchester City with their Elite Development squad, he spent a short period of time in the USA where he turned out for the Michigan Wolverines where he netted once and provided two assists in his six appearances.

On his return to his native country the St Helens born youngster was quickly snapped up by Cardiff where he spent 18 months, making one substitute appearance in the FA Cup, prior to being released by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this summer.

New Hibs Head Coach, Alan Stubbs, has already taken former Wigan defender Adam Buxton and ex- Liverpool youngster Nathan Burke on trial since his arrival with both playing 45 minutes of last Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Vale of Leithen however the former has already left to pursue other opportunities following the signing of David Gray on Tuesday.

This Saturday’s meeting with the ‘wee’ Rangers takes place at Shielfield Park with a 3pm kick off.

Admission is priced at £10 per adult and £5 concessions.

With a large Hibs support expected to travel to the match, train operator East Coast Rail have confirmed all trains departing for Berwick from Edinburgh after 10:30 will have a strict alcohol ban.

Returning trips will also enforce the ban on departures from Berwick to the Capital until 19:30.
