John Collins has been the subject of press reports linking him with a return to the club he walked out on nearly six years ago.

The Scottish Sun has a back page exclusive claiming JC has been added to Leeann Dempster’s short list and state he would be interested in replacing Terry Butcher providing certain conditions were met.

One of those conditions would be convincing him current non executive Chairman Rod Petrie played no part in boardroom discussions as Collins still harbours a grudge over a perceived lack of support from the boardroom supremo when he allowed a group of players an audience to portray their concerns over the former Scotland star’s managerial skills.

Collins of course was the last person to lead Hibs to any kind of glory when he managed the side to a 5-1 League Cup final victory over Kilmarnock in March 2007.

However many fans have voiced concern over his ability to ‘spot’ a player with JC responsible for signing mass underachievers such as Brian Kerr, Yves Makalamby and Alan O’Brien amongst others.

Since leaving Easter Road he’s had a relatively uneventful time in Belgium as Charleroi boss then an equally uneventful time as Director of Football with Livingston.

Currently training Scottish youths he’s been linked with a move to Celtic as assistant to new boss Ronny Delia.
