Hibs are set to confirm Alan Combe’s arrival to the club as goalkeeping coach after the former Kilmarnock and Dundee Utd man helped out prior to yesterday’s 4-0 victory over Berwick Rangers.

He is likely to be joined at the club by Andy Holden with the former Everton coach alongside Head Coach Alan Stubbs in the dugout yesterday.

Combe was previously employed by city rivals Hearts but left the Jambo’s following Ann Budge’s takeover after a year long spell in administration.

His arrival at Easter Road will fulfil a lifelong dream for the boyhood Hibee who will also be registered as a player with boss Alan Stubbs pleased with landing another backroom member.

Stubbs said: “I think we`ll have news of Alan coming in as goalkeeping coach soon, which is great.

“I think he`s still got to sign but verbally it has been agreed and we`ll make an announcement in due course.

“It`s the same with Andy. I think over the next few days there will be confirmation from the club on that.

“I wouldn`t rule out registering Alan as a player, it`s something we`ll pursue.”
