Willie Collum will referee the first Edinburgh derby of the season after it was confirmed by the SFA today.

Collum’s appointment is the first time he’s been in charge of a Hibs match since January when the Hibees lost 3-2 to St Mirren at Easter Road.

John Beaton, the man who harshly sent off Danny Handling at Ibrox last week, takes fourth official duties whilst the assistant referee’s are William Conquer and Gavin Harris.

Conquer was an assistant during the final derby of last season which Hearts won 2-1 thanks to a brace by Callum Paterson whilst Harris is best known for being involved in a controversial incident with Dundee United’s Nadir Cifti for which the player received a two match ban for ‘placing an open hand into the lower area of the assistant referee`s throat` ? after originally being charged with seizing hold of the official’s throat during a League Cup tie against Inverness last year.
