Hibs will look to strike a deal for freed Kilmarnock ‘keeper Cammy Bell should Scott Bain’s proposed move to Celtic be completed.

Bell, who rejoined his former club in the summer has found himself playing second fiddle to Jamie McDonald this season and was keen to move on from the Ayrshire side to explore other options.

Hibs will be on the lookout for an understudy to Israeli Ofir Marciano should Bain’s loan deal at Easter Road be terminated in order for his transfer to Parkhead to be finalised.

Bell has previously played with both Dundee United and Rangers however his career has stalled in recent times following a call up to the Scotland squad during his initial period with Kilmarnock which saw him earn a solitary cap.

A move for the 31 year old would provide Neil Lennon with the experienced back up and competition for Marciano who, having had a dip in form, has bounced back in recent games to perform at a high level with fine saves in his last two outings against Hearts and Celtic.
