Well Iain Brines let’s hope you sleep well tonight after hearing of Hibs boss Mixu Paatelainen’s touchline ban.

It was Brines whom sent the Hibees gaffer to the stand after he reacted angrily to the referee’s decision to award Morton a free kick in a CIS Insurance Cup clash back in August.

To put those in the picture who weren’t in attendance the Hibs boss was furious not only due to the aforementioned Brines horror show that particular evening but the fact he gave the foul against Hibs defender Chris Hogg whom the Morton player had cynically forearm smashed in the face.

Now if anyone thinks Vital Hibs are being a tad ott or biased here it may well be of note that Hogg has been suffering from an eye problem ever since receiving the challenge and missing the last few games.

Every person at the game knew it was a Hibernian foul apart from Brines the balloon who gave it the other way.

Cue Mixu being upset and having the audacity to throw a towel, yes that’s right, a towel, on the floor well that only upset Brines the balloon further and he sent the bad Hibs manager to the stand.

To rub salt in the wounds Morton scored what was to be the winner from the resultant free kick while Hogg was off the park getting injured but Brines the balloon won’t worry about minor details such as getting a decision wrong bother him – he knows he’ll have a match to officiate at the weekend and he can safely tail whatever’s on offer.

It’s no surprise to see from the SFA website that Brines the balloon is a policeman – wee all know you can’t upset the weedgie polis.

Paatelainen must now serve a ridiculous four match touchline ban which serves as notice to all how foolhardy our governing body are.

Brines the balloon and the SFA – hang your heads in shame.
